Stefan has been a London based financier for over 25 years, specialising in start-ups, business turnarounds and strategy change and currently serves on a number of Boards. He first served as Chairman of a UK public company aged 27 and has continued to serve on boards in the UK, USA and Europe as CEO, Chairman or senior NED since that time. He has co-founded and/or served on the boards of companies in the property, industrial, medical, leisure, technology, sports, retail, agriculture, banking and financial services sectors. He also serves as a senior advisor to a number of international trusts and high profiled business leaders.
As an executive producer his credits include Africa United, and he is an avid supporter of short films supporting ‘new talent’ directors and writers, his credits include Bricks, Nazi Boots and Ghost and has an expanding slate of both shorts and feature films.
Stefan is the Presenter of London’s Soho Radio’s ‘Stefan’s Social Experience’ breakfast show, a live one hour show interviewing the brightest and best of the UK’s social entrepreneurs.
Stefan is the Chairman and co-founder of The Afri-CAN Café Charity, a social enterprise operating in Malawi and South Africa providing employment and training to the most disadvantaged in those communities. The Afri-CAN Charity also builds ECD nurseries, provides around 200,000 free school breakfasts annually for the most vulnerable children in the townships of South Africa and runs a social venture fund focused on improving township life. He is the co-founder and Deputy Chairman of the London Rough Sleepers Committee (‘clrsc’), providing support for the homeless in Central London and is the Chairman of Pump Aid, an award winning UK based charity providing over 10% of the national rural water supplies for both Zimbabwe and Malawi combined with over 9,500 community partners serving over 1.35 million people. Stefan is the Chairman of Team Up a UK charity focusing on providing help for disadvantaged children across the UK with their GSCE’s.
Stefan was appointed a Commander of the Order of The British Empire (‘CBE’) in the 2014 Queen’s New Year’s Honours List for services to philanthropy and charity in the UK and Africa.
